Where: The Goat’s Coat Studio at Forest Fish Acres: roughly 40 minutes northeast of Bellingham: Everson/Sumas (exact location given prior to event)

Join me in my home studio at Forest Fish Acres and design your own customized upcycled sweatshirt. No sewing skills needed. Leaf through an enormous selection of textiles to create the sweatshirt of your dreams. You design it, I stitch it up.

*Your sweatshirt will be ready within 2 weeks*

Includes a base sweatshirt OR come with your own (note bringing your own does not affect workshop price) Select from an assortment of sweatshirts in all shapes, sizes, colors, brands, and eras.

Includes up to 5 hacks. Add $6 per additional hack.

What is a hack?

A hack is an embellishment, a bedazzlement, an adornment. This could be a patch, an image, a shape, a fusion of another sweatshirt, a set of stripes, a spelled out word, or whatever your creative heart desires.

Cut off an arm and add another color. Crop a men’s XL sweatshirt to fit a boxy women’s medium. Build a striped turtleneck with all your favorite colors and replace a hood. Cut out a giant hot pink horse silhouette (or any silhouette!) and add a farm creature in the middle. Create a cropped short sleeve mock neck from a hoodie. Spell out kindness with cut out letters in the middle of a blue and green earth. Add an upside down cow next to a trumpet, next to a Darth Vader, next to a cloud. Add pockets. Add some personal flare or bring your own to add!

Patches: Select from yardage, bedsheets, clothing, and sweatshirt scraps. Koalas, wolves, dogs, cars, buses, birds, cheetahs, tigers, realistic salmon, cartoon fish, tropical fish, line fish, farm animals, musical instruments, insects, bananas, Star Wars characters, Star Trek characters, hot air balloons, clouds, and MORE.

This will include a short instructional of tips and tricks I’ve gained over the years, examples of different upcycling methods, and casual studio play as we piece together your DREAM SWEATSHIRT.
